Abstract
This research explores the feasibility of adapting the existing quality systems within the Iraqi Cement Company to align with the international ISO 9001 standards, specifically focusing on the requirements related to the work system and employee management. The study aims to determine the gap between current organizational practices and the rigorous criteria set by the ISO 9001 quality assurance model. By conducting an exploratory study based on the opinions of a targeted sample of company managers, the research evaluates the infrastructure, administrative readiness, and the technical capabilities of the workforce. The findings indicate that while there is a foundational understanding of quality management, significant improvements are needed in documentation, standardized processes, and employee training to meet global certification requirements. The study concludes that achieving ISO 9001 compliance would significantly enhance the company’s competitive position and operational efficiency. It recommends a comprehensive restructuring of the quality department and the implementation of modern quality control techniques to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with international benchmarks in the industrial sector.
