Abstract
Since the early 1990s, the concept of human development has occupied a prominent position in evaluating development experiences across Third World countries. This significance arises from its emphasis on human capital and the extent to which individuals benefit from economic development processes. Given the profound impact of demographic trends on economic development, this research seeks to establish a correlation between the concept of human development and its most influential variable: population. Due to the critical nature of this subject, the study focuses on the ESCWA region—a key geographical classification under the United Nations. The research aims to monitor the policies adopted in these countries and the accompanying developments regarding population growth, including both quantitative and qualitative shifts. Furthermore, it examines the economic burdens and debt levels that may adversely affect the development trajectory, thereby hindering the progress of human development and its various indicators within the ESCWA region.
Abstract (Arabic)
احتل موضوع التنمية البشرية منذ مطلع عقد التسعينات من القرن الماضي مكانة مهمة في تقييم تجربة التنمية في دول العالم الثالث بشكل عام، نظراً لتأكيده على عنصر رأس المال البشري ومدى استفادة الانسان من عملية التنمية الاقتصادية. ونظراً لما تتركه عملية التطورات الديمغرافية من آثار على عملية التنمية الاقتصادية، لذا جاء البحث ليحاول ان يربط بين مفهوم التنمية البشرية واهم المتغيرات المؤثرة فيها الا وهو السكان. ولأهمية الموضوع تم تناوله في منطقتنا الاقليمية والتي احد اهم تصنيفاتها حسب الامم المتحدة هو بلدان الاسكوا (حسب التوزيع الجغرافي) وذلك لرصد السياسات المتخذة في هذه الدول والتطورات التي صاحبتها على مستوى نمو السكان والتغيرات التي Shahdها كمياً ونوعياً وعلى مستوى الاعباء الاقتصادية وما تتحمله من ديون يمكن ان تؤثر سلباً في مسيرة التنمية وبالتالي تعيق تطورات التنمية البشرية ومؤشراتها المختلفة في منطقة الاسكوا.
